This week we purchased our kitchen cabinets at Ikea, taking advantage of their annual sale - 10% off! Trouble is, the countertop pattern that we had planned our kitchen around has been discontinued. We had a sample that we purchased from the as-is section several months ago, and the island countertop was in stock, but we needed a 96" piece, and the Austin/Round Rock location was sold out. Fortunately, the Houston store had several, so I made a telephone order and headed to Houston on Saturday.
When I got there, I checked out the as-is section, and there was the same countertop at 50% off. We bought both pieces,and will use the second one in the bathroom, and make extra shelves in the laundry or kitchen.
