We'd been looking for white subway tile (3" x 6") for the master shower over the past several months. We had found lots of it out there, but either it was thin, with curved edges, or far too expensive. Last night we checked out Floor and Decor again, and hit the jackpot. Beautiful arctic white flat subway tile for $.80 per square foot. We're putting it on the ceiling now.
For an accent, we found burgundy pencil tiles, which we'll have set in a double row. Other colors were $1.49 per tile. Our price? $.10. Same manufacturer as the subway tile, which apparently went out of business last year.
The next challenge will be to match the green tile from the old bathroom that was destroyed during the removal of the wall.
