Harrison fell off the monkey bars at the park today and dislocated his elbow. We took him to Dell Childen's Hospital and the doctor and staff "popped" (their term) it all back together. He is doing fine and will be in a nifty red cast for the next four weeks.
Back to the house...
We passed the plumbing and electrical inspections this week. The final inspection will be next week, after a few changes: build a permanent step at the side door; level the yard; and install a shower curtain (!?).
The wood floors were finished while we were in Nebraska. The Living Room:
The kitchen sink and fixtures are fully installed. We acquired the sink in 2003, and have been waiting so long for this day. The light over the sink was a sconce that I converted into a pendant after we saw that the outlet was a good two feet higher than we had anticipated when we purchased it several months ago.
We salvaged the scalloped trim from above the kitchen sink several years ago, and recently installed it in the bathroom.
The laundry room is in part of the former kitchen, so we kept our original pink color on the new walls. The concrete has been sealed but not tinted.
The sink from the original bathroom has been moved to the master WC. The contractors fixed the cheap medicine cabinet, whose mirror had become separated from the Masonite door.
The shower fixtures have been installed (left); the vanity was pieced together mostly from as-is Ikea parts, topped with a new $15 Kohler sink thrifted in Midland, TX.
